“Lady Barn House School is
a vibrant community in which extremely well motivated pupils achieve
high academic and personal standards. Throughout the school, very
good teaching challenges pupils successfully to aim for the best
in every area.”
ISI Inspection Report 2005
Lady Barn House School is a co-educational, independent
primary school for pupils aged 3- 11 years. It was founded in
1873 by William Henry Herford, B.A., a pioneer in child education.
A family orientated school which promotes Christian values, Lady
Barn seeks to encourage academic and social self-discipline as
a sure foundation for each pupil's well being. Every effort is
made to assist each child to realise his or her academic potential
through a broadly based cultural education complemented by a wide
variety of sports and extra-curricular activities.
The School firmly believes
in the importance of the individual child’s place within
the school community. Each pupil is encouraged to work in harmony
with others and to accept responsibilities where appropriate.
The acquisition of such social skills is a fitting accompaniment
to the academic accomplishments which should enable the child
to enter secondary school with self assurance and poise.
